Lauberhorn races with spectators and adapted event concept
Ski fans are welcome at the 92nd International Lauberhorn Races from January 14 - 16, according to current information. The event will take place with certificate obligation, the current measures to protect against Covid-19 have not changed anything. Wengen thus continues to plan with three first-class ski races, a unique air show by the Patrouille Suisse and an attractive adapted supporting program in an "open-air World Cup village".
Enthusiastic spectators will hopefully line the Lauberhorn race courses again in January 2022, when the world's best ski racers compete in Wengen from 14 - 16 January 2022. The most successful downhill skiers will also be duly honored on Friday and Saturday on the big stage in the "Open-Air World Cup Village". On Sunday, the award ceremony will traditionally take place in the finish area in Innerwengen.
Compulsory certification on the event site
Already some time ago, the organizers decided with foresight to hold the Lauberhorn races in January with a certificate. This is in line with the current requirements of the authorities. This means that certificates are compulsory both along the course and in the World Cup village. For pandemic reasons, the supporting program will take place mainly outside in front of the big stage. Food stands with take-away offers will take care of the physical well-being. The reduced indoor offer consists of the Raiffeisen Fondue Chalet with seats only on reservation and the Swisscom Fan-Stube.
With the protection concept and the adjustments, the OC in Wengen is fulfilling its responsibility towards all spectators, helpers, athletes, sponsors and partners.
At the entrances to the race and event area, all ski fans will present a Covid certificate valid on race day and an official ID. Masks are compulsory in the indoor areas, as well as on the closed Jungfrau Railways transport trains.
Tickets only in advance - refund in case of possible Covid restrictions
Due to official restrictions, tickets will not be sold at the box office. The control of the Covid-19 certificates takes time and would cause undesired waiting times with the operation of box offices.
Lauberhorn tickets are available at all SBB and Jungfrau Railway ticket offices. They are valid along the routes in each case. VIP tickets can be purchased in the online store of the Lauberhorn races. Gold Cards are available for the areas at the Girmschbiel and in the finish area. In addition, there will be an exclusive hospitality offer at the finish with the best view of the entire finish area, the big screens and the race courses. For more information, visit www.lauberhorn.ch/tickets.
If an event is cancelled due to the relevant COVID laws/regulations or if the event has to be held without an audience due to a relevant order, the ticket value will be refunded (100%). If desired, the ticket value can also be used for the event in the following year.
As of today - we all know it by now
The following applies to this entire announcement: As of today. The previous year is painfully remembered by both the organizers and the fans. The International Lauberhorn Races are therefore in close contact with the relevant authorities and associations, so that everyone can look forward to uniquely beautiful Lauberhorn Races. See you in January - up in Wengen.
